One thing PF got exactly right is that silence is not a bad thing. Often a song can convey much more emotion and feeling with a virtual blank space than all the frantic notes one can produce. "Diamond" is no exception, and may be one of the best examples. Just listen to the spots where there is only a soft background sound and no prominent melody. One is able to relax and soak up the music, then experience the anticipation of what will come next. Amazing arrangement, amazing song!
